My Story

IMG-9781 (1).jpg

Broken Arrow Farm is a one women owned and operated micro-dairy in Creston, West Virginia serving surrounding local communities with the most nutritious raw dairy products available. Two of my wonderful ladies are Jerseys and the other two are Jersey Ayrshire crosses, the lovely little ladies spend most of their time in the pasture grazing off of our lush pastures.

Hi, I'm Lyndsey, I own and operate the micro-dairy full time to ensure the health and happiness of my animals, which is proven in the quality of our products. I'm born and raised in West Virginia where I grew up on a beef farm and still do to this day, back in 2013 I bought my first dairy cow to supply my family with fresh milk daily but unfortunately lost my beloved cow a year later.

Ever since 2013 I have been on the search for the perfect dairy cows to bring back to my farm, in 2021 I finally found the perfect four little bottle calves to start my dairy and am now happy to have my dream job as a dairy farm to supply my community with fresh local dairy products.

MORE ABOUT THE HERDSHARE

What is a herdshare?

A herdshare is an agreement between you and the farmer. You buy a share in the herd and pay the farmer for their services. In the state of West Virginia, it is essentially illegal to sell raw milk by the gallon, however it is legal to buy into a herdshare.

If you wish to drink raw milk and get the amazing benefits from it, you must first buy a share of the farmers herd and sign a contract.

Once you have bought into our herd, you can now legally obtain raw milk from us with monthly fees that account for boarding, feeding, milking, any vet care, etc. for your part of the herd.

A herdshare is basically buying a cow and hiring a farmer to milk, take care, and do all of the hard work so you don't have to!

MORE ABOUT THE HERDSHARE PROGRAM

WHO IS THE PROGRAM FOR?

My herdshare program is for the folks of Calhoun County West Virginia and surrounding areas. If you're not close to me but want raw milk, I would highly suggest you do Google search for farms participating in the herdshare program near you.

(Not all states require a herdshare like West Virginia)

HOW MUCH IS A HERDSHARE?

My herdshare has two price points.

1: A full share (1gallon weekly) - $100 yearly and $35 monthly.

2: A half share (1/2 gallon weekly) - $50 yearly and $18 monthly

HOW DO I BECOME A MEMBER?

To become a member you will need to sign my herdshare contract, this contract gives you all of the information about the farm, my practices, and what I the farmer expect of you and vise-versa. There is a link below that gives you a sample of what the herdshare contract is. If you would like a full contract to sign, email me your mailing address and I will send you out the contact and other information about my farm.
